Knitting has been a hobby passed down to my from my Mother, who was taught by her Mother (my Grandmother.) I remember thinking when I was little, that it was an ‘old lady’ hobby. I would always see my Grandmother and her church friends gathered together, drinking their White Zinfandel, chatting away and knitting the most gorgeous blankets. Never would I have thought I’d be doing the same thing (minus the White Zin – I prefer Chardonnay!) I am SO happy the women in my life taught me this relaxing hobby. Not only have I made many items that my kids and family cherish, but I’ve been able to help so many in need. My local knitting guild (Jersey Shore Knitting Guild) makes blankets, hats, mittens, and even small stuffed animal for those in need. It warms my heart to be able to give back to my community through this hobby of mine.
